At 35 Adam, who had been an athlete all his life and a physical education high school teacher, was diagnosed with a tumor in his kidney. At the time his wife, Shoshana was pregnant with their second child. The doctors first reaction was to tell Adam that he had 9 months to live. Following more medical tests the doctors discovered that it wa a benign tumor but that his arteries were starting to clog up. Determined not to be on medication for the rest of his life, Adam researched nutrition, went plant-based over night, earned his certificate in plant-based nutrition through the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies at eCornell. Since his health scare he's completed multiple Ironmans, started The Plant Trainers Podcast together with his wife Shoshana and is working with clients 1:1 every day. Shoshana was pregnant with her second child when Adam was diagnosed with the tumor in his kidney. Not long after, their son showed signs of severe eczema and Shoshana experienced PTSD that left her missing quality time with her kids for way too long. After deciding that medication and surgery to temporarily solve these problems wasn’t an option, Shoshana joined Adam to try a plant-based diet and completely overhauled their lifestyle one day at a time. Now, as a Family Health and Wellness Coach, Shoshana works one-on-one with busy parents and families to alleviate the stress in life that’s caused by poor diet, unhealthy lifestyle, and chronic illness.

Jayney Goddard

Jayney Goddard is one of the world’s leading experts in the fields of complementary medicine and natural health. She is a broadcaster, author, lecturer and journalist and an acknowledged thought leader in the health care arena. Initially a ballerina, Jayney “accidentally” joined the circus as an aerial artiste, which required travel to some of the most far-flung and primitive places in the world. During this time, when there was no access to conventional medicines, she witnessed first-hand the phenomenal power of natural, folk medicines and it was this that inspired her to train in a range of complementary medical disciplines. Jayney is now founder and president of The Complementary Medicine Association (The CMA) and founder and co-chair of the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine. She has a Master of Science post-graduate degree from UCLan, England; trained in Mind/Body Medicine at Harvard Medical School, USA, under Dr Herbert Benson (the “father” of Mind/ Body Medicine); and runs an international practice in which she uses a range of natural medicine approaches to help clients reach their fullest health potential. Over the last 30 years, Jayney has dedicated her life to working with people suffering from chronic lifestyle-related conditions, as she herself experienced a life-threatening illness that left her wheelchair-bound for ten years. At her lowest point, she was in hospice care, weighing only 5.5 stone (35kg; 77lbs), and not expected to survive. As a result, she aged dramatically from a “biological” perspective, measuring in at 55 when she was, in reality, only 36. However, Jayney knew in her heart that she had the ability to beat the illness via natural methods, and she did! After coming up with all the recommendations that she writes about in her latest book; “Rewind Your Body Clock – The Complete Natural Guide to a Happier, Healthier, Younger You”, Jayney managed not only to get healthy – but also to rewind her own body clock in the process.

Dr. Vivian Chen

Dr Chen is a UK medical doctor with 15 years of clinical experience. She is board certified in the UK in both internal medicine and family practice. Her world turned upside down when her daughter was hospitalized soon after being born with symptoms no doctor could figure out. Through doing her own research, she was able to help her daughter recover. She also realized that the many years of chronic fatigue, acne, and brain fog she had were due to environmental toxicity. This opened the world of root causes she had never considered before as a conventional medical doctor.  When she moved to San Francisco, she decided not to get licensed as an MD in the US - instead, she now coaches clients back to health virtually by identifying root causes and implementing lifestyle solutions. She is also on a mission to help people reduce their toxin load because she believes environmental toxins to be one important root cause of many chronic health conditions via her website and Instagram page.

This summit is for you if:

You know that health comes from healthy living

You want to be healthy and fit to enjoy life with your loved ones or inspire others

You love food (especially when it's good for us and our planet)

You want science-based advice that you can implement with confidence

You feel that life still has so much to give

You enjoy connecting with likeminded people

1

Why this is so urgent

chemicals

Toxins

The American Chemical Society has registered 150 million substances. Most have not been tested for their long-term health effects. We know substances in everyday products disrupt our hormones, cause cell damage and can even penetrate the blood-brain barrier. Did you know that scientists found hundreds of toxins in polar bear blood? There is no hiding from toxins so you need simple strategies to detox every day!

b2_07_cr

Stress

Our world has become more complex and is moving faster each day. As a result 70 to 80% report feeling overwhelmed. In fact, only 6% report not feeling stressed at work. This level of stress wreaks havoc on our health so we need new strategies to deal with stress (did you know that stress can lead to systemic inflammation which is one of the underlying drivers for all chronic disease?).

bacteria

Resistant Bacteria

More than 2.8 million antibiotic-resistant infections occur in the U.S. each year. Often this resistance is built in our food supply chains. There are measures to minimize your risk and most importantly: you need a healthy body that can defend itself (did you know 70% of our immune system lives in our gut and that we can support that immune system with affordable foods?)

mask

The Environment

The recent developments prove that we'll have to pay the debts for how we treat our planet sooner or later. But there are simple lifestyle choices that can help you thrive while minimizing your impact and exposure (did you know that according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention more than 6 in 10 known infectious diseases are believed to have jumped from animals to humans?)

sitting2

The New Smoking

On average Americans sit 10 hours a day. But our bodies are not designed to function well without movement. From our immune system to neuro-development to our mental well-being, sitting is so bad it's often termed the "new smoking". Luckily there are ways to remain fit and strong without having to spend hours in the gym (did you know that exercising can't make up for sitting all day?)
